Send Her for a Spa Day

You can’t go wrong with a spa day when it comes to presents for Mother’s Day. Moms are busy and what better way to unwind than with some pampering? Yes, please! One of our favorite full-service local spas is Sana Vida Day Spay in Marble Falls The vision began for Sana Vida over 25 years ago as a tranquil sanctuary to restore, heal, learn and open one’s mind to all possibilities. They have gathered and collaborated with such a special group of therapists and instructors who share a vision and purpose, offering massage, yoga, skincare, and acupuncture, not to mention their tea bar and shopping.

Check out one of the many art galleries in the Highland Lakes. Our all time favorite, Marta Stafford Art will be closing before this year’s Mother’s Day and that is a true loss to our community. However, there are other great finds: The Highland Lakes Arts Guild features a variety of local artists, located at 318 Main St in Marble Falls

MuseoBenini – Benini’s work has been exhibited in 162 mostly solo international exhibitions.
Now it is possible to view the evolution of his work since the 1960’s
at Museo Benini near Marble Falls, Texas. The project, established in 2015, includes 6500 sq.ft. galleries with his
Superroses of the 70’s, the surrealistic works of the 80’s, the geometrics of the 90’s,
and recent works of a more abstract nature, as well as a fine arts research library,
archives and outdoor sculptures. Guests are welcome to tour the sculpture trail featuring
the museum collection of sculpture by international artists. Lorraine and Benini are personal friends of mine, having sold them their current gallery. They are a breath of fresh Italian inspired air to Marble Falls, but way of Johnson City. We are so thrilled to have their international influence here! More:

Make Her Breakfast in Bed

Breakfast in bed is always one of the ideal Mother’s day presents because she gets to relax and everything tastes better when it’s made with love, so even if your culinary skills aren’t top-notch, you can still whip up a delicious breakfast. We’d suggest swinging by our all-time favorite local iconic restaurant, Bluebonnet Cafe, and grabbing your good to go to accompany your breakfast feast (your welcome, mom!). If you do want to try one of these great recipes at the link provided or you have your very own perfect breakfast in bed idea, maybe you need to pick up coffee or tea at one of our local coffee shops, Numinous Coffee Roasters They will also ship coffee to you! Have a Picnic

If you’re on the lookout for Highland Lakes Area Mother’s Day activities, consider heading to one of our many parks for a picnic. Pack a comfy blanket and a basket filled with goodies and soak up the spring weather. Keep the Mother’s Day menu simple with fresh fruits and veggies, tasty sandwiches and a sweet treat. If it happens to rain, you can always spread out your blanket on the living room floor and eat indoors.

Host a Mother’s Day Party

Still not sure what to do for Mother’s Day? Throw a party in honor of the mom in your life. Depending on her style, it could be a tea party, a fancy dinner party, brunch or a barbecue. Break out some decorations and have guests each bring a dish. Obviously, kids and dads are in charge of the setup and cleanup, while mom kicks back and socializes. Party Makers in Burnet is an excellent resource for all of the party supplies and decorations you may need

Make a DIY Mother’s Day Gift

Handmade presents can be a lot more meaningful than store bought ones and you don’t have to be Picasso to make something mom will love. From DIY bath bombs to sentimental photo holders, Country Living has a huge list of DIY Mother’s Day gift ideas to suit any woman. You know moms love your handmade wares!

Create a Scavenger Hunt

Blogger Carissa Miss wrote about her Mother’s Day scavenger hunt and we have to say it’s one of the best Mother’s Day activity ideas we’ve heard. It’s fun, whimsical and you can even get little kids involved in the process. First, buy or make several meaningful, little presents for mom.

They don’t have to be expensive (here’s a guide to affordable Mother’s day gift ideas or go with things like her favorite candy, an item that reflects an inside family joke, vouchers for chores, handmade crafts, etc.). Then, inside various Mother’s Day cards, write down clues to where she can find her gifts and let the hunt begin. Put your own spin on it or take inspiration from the original blog post.

Bask in the Bubbles

Would Mom like to have a glass of bubbly or wine from any of local wineries? We have some of the best in the Texas Wine Map which will give her more options than any weekend can accommodate. From Fiesta Winery at Old Oak Square on Main St in Marble Falls to Perissos Vineyard and Winery located in Hoover Valley where you can pare delightful edibles crafted by Board Me’s owner, Trisha. Drive out slightly further to the west and you can experience Torr Na Lochs Vineyard and Winery and capture amazing sunsets over Inks Lake and Lake Buchanan and the Texas Hill Country Your options are almost endless when it comes to great wine in the Hill Country!

Catch a Show

Check out our very own Hill Country Community Theatre for live shows located a short drive to Cottonwood Shores. Their schedule is at their website and single tickets can be purchased. They also serve wine, coffee, and soft drinks during intermission.

Take a drive to Fredericksburg and catch a show at the Rockbox Theater Founded in 2007, Rockbox is a live music venue located just 99 steps off of the historic Hill Country main street of Fredericksburg, TX. Our theater has entertained thousands of people since then with some of the best songs ever written. Built inside what was originally a furniture warehouse, Rockbox is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue that tastefully preserves the older elements of the building’s industrial roots while adding a refined sense of cleanliness and precision. It is an all around good time, though, get there early for good parking!

Perhaps you want something a little more low key? If the weather isn’t great or low-key Mother’s Day ideas are more your speed, treating mom to a movie is always an option. Check out Cinergy Cinemas located on Hwy 281 North in Marble Falls The popcorn is always fresh!
